Geotub

Reusable recycled plastic formwork for the construction of round columns

Geotub is a reusable modular formwork system made from recycled plastic, specifically designed for the construction of round and oval concrete columns, as well as the rehabilitation of existing deteriorated columns. Introduced to the market in 2003, Geotub revolutionized the circular formwork sector by providing a lighter, more practical, and longer-lasting alternative to traditional timber, steel, or cardboard formwork systems.

Thanks to its modular design, Geotub allows the construction of columns with diameters ranging from 25 cm to 100 cm, ensuring fast installation, accurate geometry, and excellent concrete surface finishes. The system is particularly suitable for new construction projects, structural strengthening works, and infrastructure applications.

With a maximum component weight of only 10.5 kg, even in the largest diameter configuration, Geotub can be handled and assembled manually without cranes or lifting equipment. This makes it ideal for projects with limited access or restricted working spaces.

The smooth recycled plastic surface prevents concrete from adhering to the formwork, allowing for quick stripping and easy cleaning using only water, without the need for release agents or chemical products. The components are also designed for efficient stacking, optimizing storage and transportation both on-site and in the warehouse.

Advantages

  • DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR ROUND AND OVAL COLUMNS
  • Geotub has been developed specifically for the construction of circular structural elements. Its modular design ensures precise and consistent column geometry for both new construction and rehabilitation projects.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT AND CRANE-FREE OPERATION
  • No component weighs more than 10.5 kg, allowing manual handling during assembly and stripping operations. This reduces labor costs and simplifies installation even on complex construction sites.
  • FAST ASSEMBLY AND STRIPPING
  • The modular elements can be quickly assembled and dismantled, significantly reducing formwork installation and removal times compared to traditional systems.
  • EXCELLENT CONCRETE FINISH
  • The smooth internal surface provides a high-quality concrete finish, minimizing the need for additional surface treatments after casting.
  • HIGH CONCRETE PRESSURE RESISTANCE
  • Geotub is designed to withstand concrete pressures of up to 80 kN/m², ensuring safety and reliability during casting operations.
  • IDEAL FOR COLUMN REHABILITATION
  • The system is particularly effective for the strengthening and rehabilitation of deteriorated columns, allowing the creation of new reinforced concrete jackets with controlled and consistent geometry.
  • EASY STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
  • Integrated stacking features allow components to be stored and transported efficiently, reducing space requirements and simplifying site logistics.
  • REUSABLE AND SUSTAINABLE
  • Manufactured from recycled plastic, Geotub can be reused for multiple casting cycles while maintaining its mechanical performance. This helps reduce construction waste and supports more sustainable building practices.
