If I use the grid system, will the grass growth have problems that may lead to grass yellowing and death?
A correct stratigraphy of lapillus and volcanic mixture is recommended, to guarantee the feeding, the light and the water to the grass; if these prescriptions are not followed the green surface may die as any other green area. The drainage is particularly important in order to avoid water stagnation and grass growth difficulties.
The grid doesn’t affect the grass growth, neither positively, where the required supplies are no used, nor negatively,osbtructing the growth where all the supplies the grass needs were used.
Can the construction site residual soil be used as a substrate?
Basically no, neither for the grilled nor for the hanging system. This can’t be done because it is a soft ground, sometimes made of clay and it tend to turn soggy and therefore retreat. This couldn’t be a proper base for the growth of a grass plot, especially if it is repeatedly stressed by the transit of vehicles.
Why is the use of the lapillus for the base the only one recommended?
Because it is draining, porous and resists to the pressure. Its characteristics limit drainage issues and soil subsidence also giving the needed ventilation to the rooting system.
If I have to realize a public parking, with a certain type of transit, what kind of grid is recommended?
RUNFLOOR and GEOFLOR are recommended, thanks to their materials elasticity, they offer higher performances. Especially in the case of a poor manteinance or mistreated parking.
I have to realize a parking in a shopping center and I would like to make it green. What do I have to use?
None of the grids guarantees the green because with that type of traffic, the grass doesn’t receive water or sun and it is always under pressure. It would be better to use the gravel.
As it is made of plastic, is there the risk that the sun warms it make it dilating and then damaging it?
The grille is designed to resist to the UV rays. Moreover in the case of a green car park, the grille is completely covered so that it is more protected and it remains colder. Then, the gravel protects it also from the dilations.
So the SALVAVERDE grid is not very resistant?
Yes, Salvaverde is a great grid, with a correct manteinance it guarantees well bearing and resistance capabilities, but it is an high densitiy material, that is more rigid and therefore weaker. In the case of inadeqaute manteinance and partially empty cells it may break.
