Geoplast Consulting: Nursery School in Pescara, Italy
14 May 2025

Geoplast provided consulting for a nursery school in Pescara, Italy, using New Nautilus Evo to reduce concrete by 30 % and steel by 10 %.
In 2023, Geoplast provided technical consulting for a 1,000 m² nursery school in Pescara, Italy, designing ventilated foundations and a concrete slab with New Nautilus Evo. With our engineering support, the project delivered a safe, cost-efficient, and sustainable solution tailored to the region’s seismic context.
The Nursery School of Pescara featured a distinctive butterfly-shaped plan and randomly arranged columns with a 14-meter span, requiring advanced engineering and precise calculations. Our consulting team assisted with:
- FEM analysis of the entire structure under static and seismic loads,
- Structural calculation support for the design engineer,
- Detailed technical drawings for steel reinforcement in the concrete slab,
- Seismic load assessment and calculation,
- On-site verification of steel reinforcement to ensure compliance with drawings.
The resulting slab was 30 cm thick, with a maximum deformation of 14 mm, and achieved significant material savings: 30% less concrete and 10% less steel compared to the original design.
