Aquabox: 5 key advantages for space-restricted sites

Aquabox 5 key advantages for space-restricted sites

Heavier rainfall from climate change, combined with dense urban development, is making traditional gravel basins and concrete tanks increasingly difficult to install in cities.

Aquabox is engineered for space-constrained urban sites, providing efficient stormwater management with minimal excavation, equipment, and installation time.

ORDER AQUABOX

Cities are increasingly facing heavier and more intense rainfall – a reality driven by climate change, limited open spaces, and densely built-up environments. Traditional drainage systems, such as gravel basins or concrete tanks, demand deep excavation, heavy machinery, and large transport volumes, making them challenging for compact urban sites.

Aquabox offers a modular, high-performance solution designed for space-constrained, highly developed urban areas. Here is how it addresses the key challenges and enhances urban resilience.

80 modules per pallet for easy logistics

Each Aquabox half-module weighs 10.23 kg and stacks up to 80 pieces per pallet, allowing a single truck to transport up to 460 m³ of storage volume and 75x fewer truckloads than a gravel basin. This significantly reduces on-site storage and streamlines transport, lowering logistical complexity in congested urban areas.

96 % void ratio for reduced excavation

With a 96 % void ratio, Aquabox provides 3x the storage capacity of gravel per cubic meter. This reduces the volume of soil that must be removed, which is especially valuable on dense or constrained sites such as under pavements, parking areas, or courtyards.

45 cm basin height for shallow installations

The new Half Base and Half Grid accessories allow Aquabox to be installed with only 45 cm basin height. This is ideal for sites with underground utilities or strict height restrictions where deeper digging is not possible.

Modular design for site flexibility

Aquabox modules can be assembled into any shape and configured to reach basin heights of 45, 80, 125, or 205 cm. Their modular design allows stacking, combining, and arranging in multiple ways, making it simple to adapt basin geometry to any site.

1.754 m³ basin by 5 workers in 9 days

Designed for fast and easy assembly, Aquabox’s lightweight modules and snap-lock accessories allow a 1.754 m³ basin to be built manually by 5 workers in 9 days, keeping noise, disruption, and emissions far lower than concrete or gravel construction.
