We are in a city near Padua. The client is a company that works in the field of storage of frozen foods for restaurants and needs to expand its refrigeration warehouse. The entire warehouse needed to keep a constant temperature of -25 degrees in order to guarantee the food quality during all operations, before packaging and transport.

Geoplast New Elevetor was the perfect solution to build the foundations of the new part of the warehouse. Our product is ideal for buildings used for refrigeration purposes which are increasingly common in the food industry. In these situations a process known as frost heaving (or frost heave) occurs: when the water contained in the soil freezes, its volume increases and expands upwards, with a risk of raising the foundation package and consequently leading to the formation of warps and cracks on the floor. Damages caused by a frozen floor can lead to serious structural problems, and New Elevetor was the safest and most cost-effective way to avoid frost heaving.

For this purpose, 3000 sqm. of New Elevetor H125 were used. It allowed the creation of a ventilated cavity between the ground and the last layer of the building package, in order to completely eliminate moisture. Moreover, it enabled to avoid the formation of warps and cracks on the floor of the refrigeration building both at low and medium temperatures. The foundation formwork was very easy and fast to install, it was dry and walkable during the setup operations and will guarantee a high load-bearing capacity of the entire foundation.

The company chose Geoplast because of its experience in the field of fridge cells and warehouses. The customer was very satisfied and impressed by the ease of use of New Elevetor and the quick final result. This has also allowed keeping intact the peculiarity of this company, unique in the world, because of its speed of order processing and working conditions of operators.
