Geopanel enabled fast manual formwork construction, saving on equipment and labor costs
The Naples Port Quai required the construction of a 30 m reinforced concrete pier in one of the most difficult construction environments – a narrow marine front with limited crane access, and constant interference with port operations. In these conditions, steel or timber formwork would have brought more machinery, more complexity, and slower progress.
Geopanel enabled lightweight manual handling directly on site. The panels can be carried, positioned, and assembled entirely by hand without cranes, reducing equipment needs and simplifying logistics.
Modular recycled plastic formwork allows reuse and clean casting performance
Geopanel also enabled a more efficient and adaptable construction process. Geopanel’s modularity made it easier to adapt the formwork to the required wall heights and thicknesses, while allowing the same panels to be reused repeatedly. This supports a quicker, more efficient casting cycle with less material waste and better overall productivity.
The plastic surface helps deliver high-quality concrete finish while making cleaning easy and repeated reuse practical. Integrated handles and simple locking devices reduced assembly time and supported accurate alignment and tight joints.
By combining manual handling, modular reuse, and reliable casting quality, Geopanel made the construction of the 30 m pier faster, more flexible, safer, and more cost-effective
