Problem<\/h3>\r\nYunlin County<\/strong> \u00a0is a county in western Taiwan, located east of the Taiwan Strait, about 240 km from Taiwan capital city Taipei. It is part of the Chianan Plain, a flat land where the outstanding economic activity is agricolture. The main source of water in the island is ground water<\/strong>, which is anyway presenting issues of chemical components which requires treatment<\/strong> before water can be effectively supplied both in agricoltural and residential uses.\r\n

Solution<\/h3>\r\nThe local and national Governments are actively pursuing the construction of several new water treatment facilities<\/strong> to ensure proper supply of clear, usable water throughout Taiwan, particularly in the least developed counties of the Island, such as Yunlin County.\r\n\r\nThe projects are demanding for water storage facilities<\/strong>, as well as treatment facilities which requires circular tanks of different diameters and height, depending on the type of process applied.\r\n

Product used<\/h3>\r\nGeopanel<\/a> was the formwork solution chosen for this project involving several water treatment round tanks<\/strong> to be erected as part of a water recycling plant in Yunlin County, Taiwan.\r\n\r\nThe project was inclusive of round tanks of different diameters, ranging from 8 meters to 21 meters, and Geopanel<\/a> ultimately won the day thanks to its great modularity and adaptability to different designs, minimizing the investment in specific forms for each different element of the project.\r\n\r\nThe lightness of the panel, its ease of pre-assembly at the contractor’s yard and of transportation to the job site, and the good quality of the finishing, were also features greatly appreciated all of those involved in the project.\r\n

Team<\/h3>\r\nThe form-works installation was carried out by Geoplast’s Taiwanese distributor, Boyd Construction Company Limited<\/a>, using 700 m2 of our\u00a0Geopanel<\/a> plastic formwork for concrete, adopting a system of bent alignment bars to achieve the curving of the system demanded by the diameters of the tanks being built.\r\n
