This was also true in the case of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Florida%27s_Turnpike\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Turnpike Highway<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; designated as\u00a0<b>State Road 91<\/b>\u00a0(<b>SR 91<\/b>) -, which is a\u00a0toll road\u00a0in the\u00a0U.S. state\u00a0of\u00a0Florida connecting Miami Gardens to Wildwood. It is\u00a0264.666 miles (425.939 km) long and is used daily by two million motorists. When widening and resurfacing works became necessary, including the construction of a bridge\u00a0that crosses the Turnpike Highway, every step had to be carefully planned to avoid further traffic congestion and disruptions to the Public.\r\n<h3>Solution<\/h3>\r\nGeoplast\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/formworks\/geotub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Geotub<\/a>\u00a0was just the perfect tool to produce the large bridge\u00a0circular columns easily, quickly\u00a0and especially <strong>without stopping the road crossing<\/strong>.\u00a0Renovation works also consisted of the construction of the new Atlantic Avenue (SR 806) interchange at the Florida\u2019s Turnpike (SR91) and the widening of the Turnpike from south of Atlantic Avenue to north of the Atlantic Avenue SR806.\r\n<h3>Product used<\/h3>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/formworks\/geotub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Geotub<\/a>\u00a0perfectly lends itself to difficult worksites, as it can be installed without using cranes or any other mechanical means: the panels are very light and can be manually handled by a single person. In this case it was an excellent choice, because\u00a0it allowed to <strong>fastly build the columns<\/strong> without compromising neither the traffic flow, nor the work safety of the construction site.\u00a0The columns are 20&#8242; high by 36&#8243; diameter.\r\n\r\nThanks to its peculiarity to allow <strong>quick work that does not create inconvenience to traffic<\/strong>\u00a0Geotub had already been chosen for a similar project in Ireland:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/insights\/how-geotub-helped-the-m50-motorway-extension-red-cow-roundabout-in-dublin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the M50 motorway extension in Dublin<\/a>.\u00a0Even on that occasion\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/formworks\/geotub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Geotub<\/a>\u00a0formers were particularly suitable to produce in few days the large bridge\u00a0circular columns\u00a0(800 mm diameter) without having to block off an extra lane of the motorway.\r\n<h3>Team<\/h3>\r\nThe work was commissioned to <a href=\"http:\/\/condotteamerica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Condotte America<\/a>, which operates as a heavy and highway contractor in the United States. The company specializes in bridge work, roadways, mass transit and governmental buildings, including toll plazas.
