Problem<\/h3>\r\nBerrigan<\/a>\u00a0is a traditional small country town located 690 km south-west of Sydney, Australia. The Berrigan Channel\u00a0is an irrigation canal which is part of a large water-flow control system and\u00a0receives water from Mulwala Canal<\/a>,\u00a0the largest irrigation infrastructure in the Southern Hemisphere. Lately the structure started to be dated. For improvements making a fast and easy formwork system was required, since the place of works was rather insidious as they would have to be done inside\u00a0the drained channel.\u00a0As water pressure was mounting, it was also necessary to build concrete walls and a new gate structure during a limited shut down period between seasons.\r\n

Solution<\/h3>\r\nIt\u00a0has recently been decided to carry out modernisation work, consisting in the improving of the system control and in the enabling rain water events to be harvested. The replacement of an old gate structure was also completed.\u00a0All this was carried out in a simple and efficient way and in a very short time thanks to the choice of\u00a0Geoplast\u00a0Geopanel<\/a>.\r\n
\r\n

Product used<\/h3>\r\n<\/div>\r\nGeopanel<\/a>, the reusable formwork system in ABS technopolymer for walls by Geoplast,\u00a0was particularly suitable for the purpose.\u00a0It\u00a0is very fast to install<\/strong> and allows to easily create structures of any size and shape\u00a0without the use of cranes or other mechanical lifting devices, thus reducing\u00a0labor and operating costs. In Berrigan\u00a0Geopanel<\/a>\u00a0allowed\u00a0to form and pour the entire structure in less than 5 days<\/strong>.\u00a0Thanks to its modularity and the wide range of items it is adjustable to any type of worksite, even the most difficut one, as in this case.\r\n

Team<\/h3>\r\nWorks were part of the Murray Irrigation<\/a> Scheme,\u00a0and resulted in the construction of walls\u00a02400 x 300mm <\/strong>and 350 mm thick<\/strong>.\r\nAllcon Group<\/a>, Geoplast’s Australian distributor,\u00a0designed and delivered<\/a>\u00a0180 m2<\/strong> of Geoplast Geopanel<\/a> wall\u00a0plastic formwork for concrete to build two \u201cU\u201d-shaped walls<\/strong> with channel returns and wing walls to suit the Rubicon gates.\r\n
