The consequence is the freezing of the soil and a volume growth of the groundwater:\u00a0this effect, known as frost-heaving<\/strong>, may cause several damages, as\u00a0cracks or floor deformations and malfunction or even failure of the cold storage room with consequent damages to goods.\r\n\r\nThe traditional methods to prevent frost-heave are underfloor heating systems (electrical resistances or Pumped Fluid-Glycol) or forced ventilation. These methods have a relatively high initial investment and\/or a high life-cycle cost.\r\n\r\nNatural ventilation has the advantage of being inexpensive in construction and requiring low if any maintenance. A ventilated crawl space created with Geoplast Modulo<\/a>, the permanent formwork for crawl spaces and technical voids,\u00a0is particularly suitable for cold storages as the void is open in all directions<\/strong>: an efficient\u00a0and\u00a0reliable natural\u00a0ventilation<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0thus\u00a0guaranteed.\r\n\r\nModulo<\/a>\u00a0creates a reinforced concrete structure that is at the same time very efficient in the use of materials and has the high compressive strength required to support the high loads involved in an industrial cold storage service.\r\n\r\nModulo<\/a> was recently certified by the French Institute CSTB<\/strong> (Centre\u00a0Scientifique\u00a0et Technique du B\u00e2timent<\/a>) with the\u00a0Avis Technique n. 3\/16-906<\/a>:\u00a0a confirmation of its quality and of the manufacturing company’s technical competence.\r\n\r\n ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
