
{"id":186710,"date":"2023-09-27T13:02:34","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T13:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/?p=186710"},"modified":"2023-09-28T09:13:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-28T09:13:37","slug":"aquabox-cstb-certificate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/blog\/aquabox-cstb-certificate\/","title":{"rendered":"Aquabox CSTB certificate"},"content":{"rendered":"We are glad to announce that Geoplast has fulfilled the requirements for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cstb.fr\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">CSTB<\/a> certification, now in the approval stage, of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/aquabox\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Aquabox<\/a> &#8211; our recycled plastic module for the construction of stormwater management basins. \r\n\r\nThe certification involved submitting a <a href=\"https:\/\/evaluation.cstb.fr\/en\/technical-appraisal-atec\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Technical Appraisal (ATec)<\/a> report composed of a series of tests done by accredited international laboratories according to the EU standards. \r\n\r\nThe tests were done on sample modules of Aquabox HP, 750 x 750 x 800 mm. \r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<span class=\"font-XL\"><strong>MFPA short-term compression test<\/strong><\/span> \r\n<p style=\"margin-top: -10px; margin-bottom: 5px;\"><strong>Aquabox can withstand short-term vertical loads of over 45 tons\/m2, which equals the weight of the <a href=\"https:\/\/caribshipping.co.uk\/a-simplified-guide-to-lorry-types-and-weight\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">largest 6-axle truck<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\nIn 2021, we commissioned the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mfpa-leipzig.de\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">MFPA<\/a> laboratory to perform short-term compression tests on Aquabox according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciria.org\/CIRIA\/CIRIA\/Item_Detail.aspx?iProductcode=C737&#038;Category=BOOK\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">CIRIA 737D<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.en-standard.eu\/din-en-17150-plastics-piping-systems-for-non-pressure-underground-conveyance-and-storage-of-non-potable-water-test-method-for-determination-of-short-term-compression-strength-of-boxes\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">UNI EN 17150:2019<\/a> standards. The test was done by applying steel plate loads onto 3 Aquabox test modules until failure, in order to understand their maximum load capacity.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<span class=\"font-XL\"><strong>KIWA long-term compression test<\/strong><\/span> \r\n<p style=\"margin-top: -10px; margin-bottom: 5px;\"><strong>Aquabox can withstand long-term vertical loads of over 11.5 tons for more than 50 years<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\nIn 2023, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kiwa.com\/en\/services\/testing\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">KIWA<\/a> laboratory was commissioned to assist us in performing long-term compression tests on Aquabox in our internal TestRoom, in line with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.en-standard.eu\/bs-en-17151-2019-plastics-piping-systems-for-non-pressure-underground-conveyance-and-storage-of-non-potable-water-test-method-for-determination-of-long-term-compression-strength-of-boxes\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">UNI EN 17151:2019<\/a> EU standard. The test was done by applying steel and concrete slab loads onto several Aquabox test modules until reaching over 4.380 and up to 6.500 hours.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<span class=\"font-XL\"><strong>KIWA material properties tests<\/strong><\/span> \r\n<p style=\"margin-top: -10px; margin-bottom: 5px;\"><strong>Aquabox recycled plastic material meets the extensive quality requirements of the EU standards<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\nIn 2022, the KIWA laboratory was also commissioned to subject Aquabox to a diverse series of tests in order to determine the material properties of its modules:\r\n<ul>\r\n\t\t<li>Determination of density <a href=\"https:\/\/www.en-standard.eu\/une-en-iso-1183-1-2019-plastics-methods-for-determining-the-density-of-non-cellular-plastics-part-1-immersion-method-liquid-pycnometer-method-and-titration-method-iso-1183-1-2019-corrected-version-2019-05\/?gclid=CjwKCAjwgsqoBhBNEiwAwe5w07G54P-ZN7rrK0KfrYUj6zTmr-AwbZGZBw5Y4as7iq7ypxy1DDj66BoC-xQQAvD_BwE\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">UNI EN ISO 1183 &#8211;
