Here are some \u201cshould ask questions\u201d (SAQ) you need to take into account before deciding on which solutions to use in your next project.\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size:60px;line-height: 1.2;\">How much concrete can we save?<\/span>\r\n<p>Concrete production accounts for over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/reports\/technology-roadmap-low-carbon-transition-in-the-cement-industry\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">7% of global CO2 emissions<\/a> and reducing its use is of crucial importance for sustainable construction. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/foundations\/modulo\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Modulo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/slabs\/new-nautilus\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">New Nautilus<\/a> can save as much as 30 % of concrete to reduce the carbon footprint of construction projects. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size:60px;line-height: 1.2;\">Are these materials sustainably sourced?<\/span>\r\n<p>Many construction materials, such as EPS, metal, and different types of finishings are predominantly made of virgin materials. They can easily be replaced with recycled plastic solutions, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/foundations\/elevetor-max\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Elevator Max<\/a> for fills, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/foundations\/matrix\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Matrix<\/a> for raised floors, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/slabs\/skydome\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Skydome<\/a> for the exposed concrete finish.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size:60px;line-height: 1.2;\">Can we reduce transportation?<\/span>\r\n<p>Gravel, concrete, and EPS are bulky and require enormous amounts of transport to construction sites. Stackable solutions like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/aquabox\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Aquabox<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/slabs\/skydome\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">New Nautilus Evo<\/a> reduce the number of truckloads by up to 12 times, lowering the emissions caused by the transportation of construction materials. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size:60px;line-height: 1.2;\">Do we have to use so much machinery?<\/span>\r\n<p>No, we do not. Solutions that are designed for manual installation can reduce the use of machinery to an absolute minimum in each part of the building: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/foundations\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">foundations<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">rainwater management<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/green\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">green areas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/formworks\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">walls<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/slabs\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">slabs<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/green\/completa\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">roofs<\/a>. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size:60px;line-height: 1.2;\">How much energy are we going to save?<\/span>\r\n<p>Operational carbon, which arises from the in-use phase of the building, accounts for <a href=\"https:\/\/worldgbc.org\/advancing-net-zero\/embodied-carbon\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">28 %<\/a> of global emissions. \r\nPassive wall and roof solutions like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/green\/drainroof\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Drainroof<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/green\/completa\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Completa<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/green\/wall-y\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Wall-Y<\/a> improve the insulation of the building, saving up to 40 % of energy for heating and cooling.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-size:60px;line-height: 1.2;\">How can we lower worksite waste?<\/span>\r\n<p>Solutions such as wooden formwork, screws, nails, aggregates, and EPS get discarded after a few uses and are easily scattered around, adding to the pollution issue.
