Extreme weather events are stressing the inefficiency of old concrete and gravel systems, urging for new, long-term solutions that would better protect cities against flooding.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Innovation was key to our success in addressing flooding issues. By utilizing recycled plastic, we created stormwater management systems that were not only more sustainable, but easier to transport and install, and better able to preserve the natural water cycle. Here are 5 projects improved by our solutions:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"columns-wrapper-post\">\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/milan-bergamo-airport-orio-al-serio-italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Geoplast-Aquabox-Milan-Bergamo-Airport.jpg\" alt=\"Milan Bergamo Airport, Orio al Serio, Italy, front view\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/a>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<h3><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/milan-bergamo-airport-orio-al-serio-italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milan Bergamo Airport, Orio al Serio<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\t\t<p>As part of the 70,000 m2 East Terminal construction, Milan Bergamo Airport needed a stormwater dispersion basin for its infrastructure areas, with as little disruption to the existing terminals as possible. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/aquabox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aquabox<\/a> provided a high-capacity basin in record time, preventing future flood damages and airport maintenance costs.<\/p>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/allianz-cloud-sports-hall-in-milan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Geoplast_Drainpanel__Allianz-Cloud-arena_facade-2.jpg\" alt=\"Allianz Cloud sports hall, Milan\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/a>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<h3><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/allianz-cloud-sports-hall-in-milan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Allianz Cloud sports hall, Milan<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\t\t<p>Allianz Cloud was located in a congested urban area prone to rainstorm flooding due to many underground streams. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/drainpanel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drainpanel<\/a> modules allowed easy manipulation with no heavy machinery, creating 4 laminated basins with decreased construction time and costs.<\/p>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/marchesini-group-headquaters-water-drainage-paris-france\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Marchesini-1.jpg\" alt=\"Marchesini HQ, Geoplast, Drening\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/a>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<h3><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/marchesini-group-headquaters-water-drainage-paris-france\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marchesini Group Headquarters, Paris<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\t\t<p>Marchesini Group Headquarters demanded a minimally invasive stormwater management solution, able to conform to its small footprint and shallow excavation depth. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/drening\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drening<\/a> tunnel-shaped modules easily adapted to the available space, preventing flooding and facilitating rainwater reuse at the same time.<\/p>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/hathaway-house-redevelopment-london-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Hathaway-1.jpg\" alt=\"Hathaway House redevelopment, London\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/a>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t<div Redevelopment, London<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\t\t<p>The Hathaway House Redevelopment had limited space on its public surfaces. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/new-elevetor-tank\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Elevetor Tank<\/a>\u2019s fully customizable system helped build a large rainwater accumulation tank under the complex, as part of the underground garage, making the construction quicker and less demanding.<\/p>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t<div class=\"column-post\">\r\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/projects\/walkable-terrace-of-the-observatory-in-marana-di-crespadoro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Observatory-Marana-di-Crespadoro.jpg\" alt=\"Observatory, Marana di Crespadoro\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/a>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t<div rel=\"noopener\">Observatory, Marana di Crespadoro<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\t\t<p>Marana Observatory underwent a reconstruction, requiring a new rainwater drainage system on its walkable roof. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/water\/geocell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Geocell<\/a> provided a decreased thickness of the drainage layer compared to gravel,
