Most common causes of these accidents are so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/oshstats\/commonstats.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fatal four<\/a>: falls, being struck by an object, electrocutions, and being caught in between two objects. Besides fatal accidents, other hazards are causes of workers\u2019 serious injuries. Manual tasks that impact the musculoskeletal disorders and health of workers: repetitive movements, sustained force, sustained postures, exposure to vibration, soft tissue injuries, acute or chronic pain, and nerve injuries.\r\n<h3>Regulation<\/h3>\r\nIn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beckettandco.co.uk\/manual-handling-faq-weight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EU<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilo.org\/dyn\/normlex\/en\/f?p=NORMLEXPUB:13101:0::NO::P13101_COMMENT_ID:3255712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USA<\/a> the limited weight that construction workers can take by themselves is 25 kg, while in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au\/system\/files\/documents\/1702\/nationalcodeofpractice_manualhandling_nohsc2005-1990_archivepdf.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Australia<\/a> it is limited to 20 kg. The risk of back injury increases with objects above the range of 16 &#8211; 20 kg. The upper weight limit to carry, lift, or lower objects is 55 kg.
