They consist of two thin slabs and ribs connecting them, having the same or better performances than a solid slab, with less concrete used.\r\n\r\n<strong>Structural benefits<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>They weigh less, making the whole building structure more seismically resilient,<\/li>\r\n\t<li>They don\u2019t need beams,<\/li>\r\n\t<li>The foundations are less stressed because of the decreased construction load,<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Are suitable for medium to large spans (7 &#8211; 12 m),<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Even voided, these slabs have the same strength as solid slabs.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<strong>Functional benefits<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Voided slabs are suitable for spaces with irregularly positioned columns,<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Larger spans offer higher flexibility of interior space organization,<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Flat lower surface provides uninterrupted passage to conducts and pipes,<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Improved aesthetics for flat and smooth ceiling surface,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Easier further processing, plastering, or mounting of suspended ceiling.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<strong>Economic benefits<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Use of plastic formwork embedded in concrete slabs decreases the concrete volume used (up to 20%),<\/li>\r\n\t<li>They save costs and time speeding the construction process.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Environmental benefits<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Decrease of concrete used impacts the amount of CO2 emitted in the air.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\nOur products <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/slabs\/new-nautilus\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">New Nautilus<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoplastglobal.com\/en\/products\/slabs\/new-nautilus-evo\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">New Nautilus Evo<\/a> are used for voids in bidirectional slabs. They are used as single or double elements, increasing the depth of slab when necessary. Approximate thickness of slab is calculated as L(span) \/ 28.
