Bermondsey Works, London, UK
The roof of a new residential development Bermondsey Works in London is transformed into a roof garden, now used as community space for the inhabitants.
The author of landscape project is Standerwick Land Design studio, and the concept was to create an outdoor common lounge with greenery. Long narrow roof surface is divided into smaller irregularly shaped ambients, creating dynamic shift of green and paved areas.
The surface of 555 m2 is covered with wildflower turf in our Completa plastic elements, embedded into ANS Grufekit Brown Wildflower Sedum Roof system. Besides the green surface, roof garden is equipped with sunbathing benches, pavements and small platforms for observation of London skyline.
Due to its modularity, the installation process of Completa modules saves time. Completa system slows down the rainwater's run-off, and provides additional thermic and sound insulation of the interior space.
